I Deserve an Atta Girl!!!

I sooo deserve an atta girl for today! I decided to go for a walk through the neighborhood and just take in the sites. Well, a path I used to take when I was a kid, walking to my friend's house, who lived nearby, I was able to walk. I haven't made that walk in years. Now, I will admit that halfway through it I thought that I wouldn't make it, but I did make it!!! I'm soo proud of myself. I just wish I would have looked around more and enjoyed the scenery instead of just focusing on the walk...lol.

Now, if I only could keep that kind of thing up. I need to enjoy the nice weather while we have it. Besides, a good walk is good for your mentally, physically and spiritually.

These Times They Are a Changin'

Well, it's official! On Monday I start a new shift! Now, I get off work in the afternoon and have the whole night ahead of me (well, at least until I have to go to bed so I can get up between 4:30 AM and 5 AM). Mom and I have already said we're going to go see that movie 27 Dresses.

I need to "get out of Dodge" this weekend. Still, I'm sooooo excited about working the new shift. I'm really looking forward to being more involved in the church again. I've really needed a major schedule change to help get my priorities straight.

What the Future Holds

First off, it's confession time. Well, with the weekend came some bad habits springing up again. It was filled with "I should" and none were ever accomplished.

Good News

Well, I finally got my car back today. After doing some research and having others around me tell me of the possible engine damage, I was pretty worked up all day yesterday. The car seems to be running fine and I was able to get enough credit to cover the bill. They also gave me 90 days same as cash to get it paid off before interest rates kicked in (which are pretty high). So, I'm feeling a little bit better, but I'm still a bit wary. I'm going to be babying my car for a while I think. Yet, I can only take one day at a time. I'm hoping my car can get me around for a few more months until I can open up some options and find something else.

Stargate Atlantis starts tonight!!! Sci-Fi's running a marathon of SGA Season 4 tonight so I'm hoping to catch a few that I've missed. Yay!!!

So, I was looking on at one of my favorite author's ([info]eeknight) LJ space and found a neat little thing about your name. I don't know that I'm all that it says mine is....

***What Kelly Means***

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.
You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.
You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

Also, I was sent a vid from a friend of mine about a college ac capella group named Straight No Chaser singing the Twelve Days of Christmas and found another where they were singing an oldie from the 90s. Can you guess what it is?

Here's hoping you have a great and wonderful weekend! I'm going to the movies (and doing laundry)!

Waiting...

Well, I finally got a word on how much it might cost to get my car repaired... I was told the timing belt and the water pump had gone out on the vehicle. All of this comes to a grand total of...

Woe Wednesday

Ok, so here I was thinking about how I lost 6 lbs the first week and believing that the first 3 weeks I might lose more than the 1-2 lbs you are supposed to lose. So, I counted my points diligently, used half of my flex points, didn't eat or drink anything before going to weigh in, wore the same clothes (weighing in with the same tradition and schedule) and...

A New Me

First off, Happy New Years!!!!!

So, it's come to that time of year again when we think of what the new year will have in store for us and what we didn't accomplish in the last one. Yep, it's the dreaded New Years Resolution. Most people pick losing weight as a goal for the new years, but it seems that there's a curse on resolutions. Few actually keep them. So, is it a good thing to even practice? Well....yeah.

The Weekend

I had big plans for the weekend, but not alot of money to do them. Sooo, I stayed at home. Well, in truth, I stayed in front of the TV. However, I kept to the plan with WW. I do need to get more active, though. It's kinda hard to get up and do stuff when it's a cold, rainy day. Yes, I'm making excuses...lol. I really don't have an excuse for being lazy. However, my wallet is appreciative that I didn't go out to a movie or two. I wish I had gone to the grocery store, though. I really need to restock my pantry. I'm gonna have to get up early tomorrow and do it instead. If I wait until I get off from work, everything will be closed for the holiday...lol. However, it's not too late to go now...see ya!

Whew!

So, yeah, here I am...lol. I've spent a long long time on a few other sites that seemed to do what I wanted them to do, but I'm tired of dealing with the spam and stuff. I have friends trying to get me to go to other sites, but this site seems to do all I need it to do and has cool backgrounds (unlike another I frequent).

I survived the holidays and lost 6 lbs!!! Yes, you heard me correctly! However, my wallet didn't come out of the holidays in the plus. I'm hurting until payday in January now. Still, I had a great Christmas and got tons of pants, which hopefully won't fit in a few months (too big...please, let them be too big!). It's hard to find my favorite pants here in town. My aunt has had much better luck in Norton than here...odd how they carry stuff that the local stores don't carry here.

But, back to the weight loss, yes, I started Weight Watchers...again. I'm sticking to it this time and not limiting myself like I did last time. My goal for the New Year is to lose weight, be healthy AND learn how to cook. My doctor brought up the dreaded words -gastric bypass- again and I refuse to let him do that. I know I can lose the weight. I did it before on WW and I can do it again. He's behind me 100% and said he's gonna be on my case. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

So, now I have to prepare meals ahead of time, but I still eat out when I want to. In fact, I'm making a point to get pizza this weekend. I'm dying for some greasy pizza. Sad, yes I know, but true! I can't wait for this weekend, though. I'm sooo wanting to see that movie "P.S. I Love You". Also, I'm desperately wanting to get back into playing my trumpet again. It needs some work, though. The slides are so dry and I shudder to think of what's growing in it right now....lol. I think that'll be a project for this weekend...after the movie of course.
